I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Political Science and a SERC Group Leader at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In June 2026, I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Stockholm University.
I study the global governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). My research interest is driven by the observation that the rapid development of AI presents one of the most consequential governance challenges to date. Specifically, it represents a governance challenge of global scale, given the inherently trans-boundary nature of AI’s development and deployment. In my dissertation, I investigate various cooperation efforts to facilitate AI governance at the global and regional levels of governance. In my postdoctoral research, I focus on authority relations between states and firms in AI governance.
Methodologically, I mainly rely on large-N data collection efforts for descriptive and statistical analysis, as well as quantitative text analysis.
During my doctoral studies, I had the opportunity to conduct two research visits: in spring 2024, as a departmental guest at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University, and in fall 2024, as a Global Political Economy Project (GPEP) Affiliate Fellow at the Mortara Center for International Studies at Georgetown University. I am affiliated with the Stockholm Center on Global Governance (SCGG) and the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanity and Society (WASP-HS).
